Abstract:
La marche en ville recouvre en fait une grande variété d'activités (déplacement, tourisme, jeux, etc.) et de types de marcheurs (enfants, brocanteurs...) auxquels correspondent autant d'enjeux et de comportements différents, ce dossier les aborde dans les contextes de Paris, Lausanne, Santiago du Chili ou Buenos Aires. Nous y verrons les défis que cette complexité pose aux politiques publiques en faveur de la marche en ville. Celles-ci peuvent s'inscrire dans le cadre de la concurrence pour la voirie, ou dans une volonté d'un « nettoyage social » de l’espace public. Elles peuvent aussi dépendre de partenariats instables entre différents acteurs, auxquels s'adresse une interpellation finale de Jan Gehl
