Abstract:
Hat seit anderthalb Jahren nichts mehr gehört, außer der Abhandlung über Macrocephalen. Die Briefe, die damals für Baer ankamen, habe er durch Voss an ihn befördert. Aus seinen Publikationen könne er ersehen, dass er Baers Spuren gefolgt sei. Zu seiner Bronchitis 1859, seitdem habe er die Physiologie an Meissner abgegeben. Zu seinen Vorlesungen, Bertholds Tod und Keferstein. Baers Anwesenheit hier habe ihn in die Anthropologie getrieben und er habe jetzt erst Blumenbachs Sammlung studiert. Zu seinem "Vorstudien zu einer wissenschaftlichen Morphologie und Physiologie des menschlichen Gehirns als Seelenorgan" (Göttingen 1860). Denkt an einen anatomischen Atlas im Stil der "Crania britannica". Hat Eschricht und van der Hoeven um Schädel gebeten, hofft von Bilharz in Kairo afrikanische zu erhalten und von Baer aus Sibirien. Zum Plan eines Kongresses zu Schädelmessungen. Will Owen, Eschricht, van der Hoeven, Schroeder van der Kolk, Thuraham und Davis einladen. Weitere Überlegungen hierzu. Zu Galls Phrenologie. Fragt, was Baer von seinen Anti-Retzius und Anti-Darwin-Schriften halte. Hätte gerne seine "Zoologisch-anthropologische Untersuchungen" (Göttingen 1861) Baer gewidmet. Zu Wied und Carus.
