Abstract:
Das traditionelle Rollenverständnis von Mann und Frau bricht auf. Dies spiegelt sich insbesondere in der Elternzeit von Vätern wider. Mit Männer „doing“ Gender wird ein Bezug zur neuen Männlichkeit hergestellt. Speziell die Väter erhalten neue Aufgaben innerhalb der Familie, womit der Beruf für sie einen anderen Stellenwert erhält. Gleichzeitig ist damit eine Ausgewogenheit zwischen Familie und Beruf verbunden, die die Väter erlangen wollen. Der Rückgriff auf den Genderbegriff ermöglicht es, nicht nur die persönlichen und gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen zu analysieren, sondern auch die Elternzeit als familienpolitische Maßnahme zu verstehen. Zudem lassen sich verschiedenen Bezüge durch eine derartige Genderperspektive verdeutlichen. Zwei Beispiele von Vätern in Elternzeit veranschaulichen und belegen, dass heutzutage die moderne Vaterschaft mehr und zugleich anderes ist als nur Autorität und Strenge auszustrahlen sowie in der Ernährerrolle zu verweilen
