Abstract:
Selbstoptimierung ist der derzeit am meisten diskutierte gesellschaftliche Trend. Die ethische Einführung konzentriert sich auf die Selbstoptimierung im engen Sinn oder das Enhancement, d. h. auf technikbasierte, vorwiegend biomedizinische Methoden zur menschlichen Selbstverbesserung. Zunächst erfolgt eine begriffliche Klärung der grundlegenden normativen Bezugsgrößen Glück, Gerechtigkeit, Freiheit, menschliche Natur und Würde. Danach wird ein Überblick über die verschiedenen Formen des Enhancements (Körper-Enhancement, Neuro-Enhancement und genetisches Enhancement) gegeben. Es werden die verschiedenen Problemebenen herausgearbeitet und die wichtigsten Argumente für und gegen einzelne Optimierungsmaßnahmen systematisiert und kritisch geprüft. Damit verfolgt der Band auch das Ziel, zur Versachlichung und Rationalisierung der öffentlichen Selbstoptimierungsdebatte beizutragen. Quelle: Umschlagtext.
