Abstract:
As we all know, the footwear industry today finds itself confronted by a profound transformation caused, above all, by the appearance of new producing countries which have obliged the others to shape up stylistically to the new circumstances. In this new situation it can be seen that the Italian industry, despite the necessity of having to cope with particulary difficult circumstances because of the nature of the Italian economy, has not only maintained its previous position on the worlds markets, but has even consolidated its primacy. In fact it is quite easy to fathom the reason for the continuing superiority of the Italian footwear industry. This arises from the nature of the industry's basis structure, which remains essentially based on artisanship, and draws its roots from Italian tradition and culture. - from the blurb.
