    Abstract: Bündel salzhaltiger Blätter, von den Eipo 'Uwa' genannt (Psychotria; Rubiaceae), werden zum Glimmen gebracht und in eine aus Bananenblättern gedrehte Röhre gesteckt. Das Mundstück der Röhre wird in einen durch Kauen von Pfefferblättern, Ingwer und salzhaltiger Asche hergestellten, dünnen Brei getaucht. Der Dampf der glimmenden Blätter wird inhaliert.
    Abstract: Bundles of leaves containing salt, called 'Uwa' by the Eipo, (Psychotria; Rubiaceae) are made to smoulder and inserted into a tube made by rolling banana leaves. The tube's mouthpiece is immersed in a thin mush made by chewing pepper leaves, ginger and salty ashes. The steam from the smouldering leaves is inhaled.

    Abstract: Vor dem Männerhaus in Malingdam spielen Jungen verschiedenen Alters. Bei dem ersten Spiel bauen sie aus ihren Händen einen Turm, den sie dann zusammenstürzen lassen. Bei dem zweiten Spiel formen sie aus Daumen und Zeigefinger Ringe, die übereinandergelegt eine Röhre ergeben. In diese schlägt ein Mitspieler mit der flachen Hand einen Stein, der ein Tier symbolisiert. Ein anderer Mitspieler muß erraten, in wessen Hand sich der Stein befindet.
    Abstract: Boys of different ages are playing in front of the men's house in Malingdam. In the first game they make a tower with their hands, which they then allow to collapse. In the second game they form rings from their thumbs and index fingers, which form a tube when they are placed one upon the other. In this game one player strikes a stone with the flat of his hand, which symbolises an animal. Another player has to guess in whose hand the stone is located.
