    Abstract: The Gbagba is a dance for entertainment which is performed at festivities or for its own sake. It evolves around the figure of a bird - the Gbagba. Alternately a ballet of boys and single masks are dancing; the latter represent certain personalities and animals well known to all.

The ceremony is conducted by LING RINPOCHE in the presence of TRIJANG RINPOCHE, the two spiritual teachers of the Dalai Lama, through whom the documentary takes on historical significance.

Die Ringer stehen gebückt, Kopf an Kopf, die Beine möglichst weit zurück, und suchen den Gegner durch seitliches Schleudern oder durch Ergreifen eines Beines auf den Rücken zu werfen. Jeder Ringer wird von mehreren Sekundanten begleitet, die ihn mit magischen Mitteln zu schützen und ebenso dem Gegner zu schaden suchen.
    Abstract: On market-days, the wrestling teams of several villages complete with each other. The wrestlers stand, bent over, head to head, legs spread back as far as possible. They try throw the opponent on his back by grasping his leg, or by pushing him sideways off balance. Each wrestler is accompanied by several seconds who try to defend him with magie and at the same time to harm the rival.

    Abstract: Mitglieder der tibetischen Tanz- und Theatergruppe aus Ebnat-Kappel (Schweiz) führen in Rikon ein Theaterstück, das die Vorgänge bei der Hochzeit der Nangsa mit dem Prinzen Dokpa Samdup wiedergibt, vor der Kamera auf.
    Abstract: Here we see several short theatralic scenes taken from the widespread cycle of life, death and reincarnation of Nangsa. The most important parts of the Tibetan wedding ritual are shown. Accompaniment is provided by an harmonica and a long-necked lute.

    Abstract: Im Dorf Zrazra mimen Krieger der Guro tanzend ihre Funktionen im Kampf: der Häuptling mit seinen drei Fetischen, sein ihn beschützender Bruder, der Wasserträger, der Kopfabschneider, der Kundschafter u. a. Mehrere der Tänzer tragen Gewehre. Drei Musikanten begleiten den Tanz, indem sie auf Hohleisen schlagen.
    Abstract: Old and young Guro warriors do a mime dance of their duties during a fight: e. g. the "Fourrier" who offers palmwine to the thirsty warriors, and especially the great warrior of the village with his three fetishes. The fetishes make certain that his shot will be unfailing, and at the same time protect the warrior against any harm. Three iron bells are rung as an accompaniment.

    Abstract: 22 Reiter und der vorjährige König des Gänsereiter-Clubs von Höntrop reiten Montag nach der Schaugans, dann nach der Königsgans. Das Reiten endet mit dem Sieg eines der Bewerber um die Königswürde. Am Dienstag finden das Wurstsammeln und der Königsball statt.
    Abstract: The riders gather, the king takes the review, the procession moves towards the course in the south park. The first ride is for the "display goose", then for the "king's goose". Riding ends with the victory of one of the candidates for the kingship. On Tuesday the sausage collection takes place. Goose riders advance towards the houses of certain club members accompanied by music, and collect the sausages. In the evening, once the orchestra, sausage gatherers and royal couples have come into the festivity hall, the royal ball begins.
