    Abstract: Jordi Brasó prologa aquesta edició facsímil del Diari de Vilamar (1922), que es publicà a la colònia escolar de Calafell i que simbolitza tot el moviment social de renovació pedagògica catalana d’inicis del segle XX. Juntament amb l’esforç de diversos mestres i pedagogs, hi hagué el de les institucions per fomentar una escola nova centrada en els interessos i les necessitats del jovent. En conseqüència es volgué millorar la qualitat, la vida i la formació de l’infant allunyant-se de la pedagogia memorística i no reflexiva. Això significava posar el punt de mira en l’alumne, i a partir d’aquest protagonisme elaborar tota la tasca educativa. Aquest diari, amb catorze números que van del 29 d’agost al 14 de setembre de 1922, detalla la vida a la colònia de la Primera República Escolar de Vilamar l’any de la seva creació. A càrrec dels alumnes, és un exemple de com era l’estada a Calafell, que funcionava com una ciutat ideal i amb un model d’autogestió democràtica organitzat de manera jeràrquica entre els habitants
